This is our regular monthly general membership meeting with a guest speaker who will provide insight into:

"What is Dementia": Learn how dementia affects an individual’s brain and behavior. General topics include different types of dementia, stages and progression and dispelling some common myths.

Our guest speaker will be:

Jane Hope, Support & Education Co-Ordinator, First Link Coastal Indigenous Community Engagement, Alzheimer Society of B.C., Greater Victoria & North Island Regions.

She has been with the Society for over 20 years and is just as passionate about her job today as she was when she started.  In the early 90’s her mother was diagnosed with Vascular dementia and this began her journey as a caregiver and advocate.  Jane’s goal now is to help people live well with dementia and she is inspired every day by the people who live with dementia as well as the care-partners and family members that she works with.
